Account Verification (KYC)

How to verify your identity and unlock full platform features.

Why verification is required

Rentakoto requires identity verification (KYC — Know Your Customer) to ensure a safe and trusted rental marketplace. Verified accounts can sign contracts, make payments, and access all features.

What you need

  • A valid government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID, or driver's licence)
  • A selfie holding your ID
  • Address verification (utility bill or bank statement, in some cases)

How to submit

Go to Account → Verification and follow the step-by-step instructions. Upload clear photos of your documents.

Processing time

Most verifications are reviewed within 1 business day. You will receive an email notification with the result.

If your verification is rejected

You will be told the reason (e.g., blurry photo, expired document). Correct the issue and resubmit. Contact support if you continue to have issues.

Hosting verification

Landlords require an additional hosting document verification before listing properties. This includes proof of property ownership or authority to let.
