Signing Contracts

How the contract signing process works for landlords.

Contract lifecycle

After you approve an application, Rentakoto generates a lease contract automatically. The process:

  1. **You approve** the application → contract is sent to renter
  2. **Renter signs** → contract status moves to "Awaiting Payment"
  3. **Renter pays** deposit and first rent → you are notified to countersign
  4. **You countersign** → lease becomes active

Countersigning

Go to Leases → In Progress to find contracts awaiting your countersignature. Review the terms, then sign using your typed name or drawn signature.

If you need to make changes

Before the renter signs, you can void the contract and re-issue a corrected one. After both parties have signed, changes require a formal lease amendment.

Contract storage

All signed contracts are stored securely on Rentakoto. Both parties can access them at any time under their lease details.
